Happening late this year from 6th to 10th Dec 2021, Kenya Innovation Week is a flagship innovation forum for the country run by the Kenya National Innovation Agency. It seeks to showcase the innovativeness of Kenyans under which the national priorities of the Big 4 Agenda and Vision 2030 will be advanced. It will champion relevant policy engagements on innovations within institutions while promoting practical skills necessary to create innovations that impact people. In addition, Kenya Innovation Week will strengthen the research and commercialisation practices for greater socio-economic impact. To achieve its objectives, Kenya Innovation Week 2021 will convene the local governments, private sector, development partners, media and civil society in order to capitalize in as much shared value as possible.
KeNIA as a state corporation is guided by principles and framework of public finance as espoused in (the chapter 12) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.KeNIA firmly believes in an open, transparent, accountable and prudent use, utilization and absorption of public resources. Without prejudice to the foregoing generalities, KeNIA does not in any way intend to create a legally binding financial relationship with users and or you. The aforementioned notwithstanding, the terms herein below succinctly speaks to financial obligation in respect to access, use of our services and or content.
These terms shall be governed by the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Industrial property Act, the trademark Act, Science, Technology and Innovation Act, Copyright Act and all other relevant laws of Kenya except where otherwise expressly provided.
All the foregoing notwithstanding, this part specificapplication for, evaluation of, Notification of and awardfor the national innovation awards 2021 Categories of the National Innovation Awards There shall be only three categories of awards:

Termination
The access and use may be terminated in the events the ideas and or the innovations conflict the above set criteria, or are in conflict with the terms and conditions , are in conflict with the strategic objective, mission and vision of KeNIA, disorients local content, morals, induces corrupt practices in influences or promotion of ideas and potentially lead to any undesired outcome, disregards gender parity in any form or shape, entrenches discrimination of whatever form against a given gender or PWDs, highly exposes the privacy of individual or state and thus a threats national security/cohesion.
Any disputes, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to access and use of our services and contents and or terms herewith or the breach, termination or validity thereof shall be subject to amicable negotiation between you/user and KeNIA.
If the user in whatever capacity (individual /representative/legal entity) feels aggrieved or dissatisfied with the outcome of the out-of -court settlements he or she is at liberty to institute a suit in the courts of competent jurisdictions.
The court in resolving the disputes, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to access and use of our services and contents and or terms herewith or the breach, termination or validity shall make reference to this term and adopt a purposive interpretation and render justice to the aggrieved parties.
These terms only cover access and use of our services and any linked third party services and platform are covered separately by their terms and conditions.
KeNIA does not assume any liability with regards to access and use of such third party services and contents.
No agency, partnership, or employment is to be created as a result of these terms and conditions.
Kenya National Innovation Agency (KENIA) (hereinafter referred to as “BOARD’’ or “we’’) is a body corporate established under section 28 of the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Act of 2013.KENIA is mandated to develop and manage a vibrant and dynamic national innovation system.
In connection with our operations and to be able to execute our mandates of developing a dynamic national innovation system, achieve our vision to be a key enabler of social-economic growth through commercialization of innovations, taking ideas to the market and in light of Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the Big Four Agenda we intend to conduct Kenya innovation week (KiW) where we may collect, use and process personal data of you as a user of our services and /or contents.
This privacy policy would serve to inform the public, stakeholders, partners and all other persons (hereinafter referred to as “user” or “you”) about what data is being collected, why it is being collected and how it’s being processed, stored and used.
